Living Permeability
By Natsue Tanaka · JP
Living Permeability is a field of fine filaments rising from faint strata and thinning into open space. Partway up, the field loosens. A few threads slow, one turns back, others pass straight through. I did not want an entrance or a destination there, only a place where movement may pause, return, or continue. Six questions are set into the image as quiet notation: what arrives, who carries the weight, what remains unseen, where may the flow pause, what returns, what may be repaired. The image leaves them open. The final palette was adjusted the way I correct colour in hair: a trace of violet, five to ten percent, to cancel yellowing and leave only clarity.
