This painting explores the distance between the face we show to the world and what we truly feel. A figure removes a mask, revealing vulnerability and a more authentic self. Part of my current body of work, Sur le fil (“On the Edge”), it questions identity, appearance and the fragile balance between strength and uncertainty. Entirely handmade with acrylic paint, palette knives, scratches and fragmented marks, the work connects to Human After All through a simple question: what remains when the constructed image disappears? Emotion, contradiction and vulnerability — the imperfect experience of being human.
