STROKE
By Natalka Tsybulska · US
Stroke is an autobiographical AI short film based on my personal experience of surviving a stroke at the age of 33. The film explores the moment when an ordinary life is suddenly interrupted and the familiar relationship between mind and body changes. Rather than focusing only on the medical event, the work reflects on vulnerability, fear, loss of control, recovery, and the fragile boundary between the life we assume will continue and the moment everything changes. I created the film as a way of transforming a deeply personal experience into a visual story. AI allowed me to reconstruct emotions, memories, and subjective states that would have been difficult to reproduce through conventional filmmaking. The technology is not the subject of the film; it is the medium through which I tell a human story about survival and the value of life.
