The Human Edit
By MSPHULPOTO · PK
The Human Edit explores the relationship between artificial intelligence and human artistic intention. The work presents a portrait assembled through a fragmented visual language of photography, collage, texture, nature and memory. Rather than treating AI as an independent artist, I approached it as a creative medium and focused on the human decisions that give the final image its meaning. The central figure is surrounded by fragments that suggest different possibilities, while the completed portrait represents a single interpretation chosen from those possibilities. The contrast between the machine-generated image and the imperfect, tactile appearance of torn paper, handwritten-feeling marks, fabric, flowers and photographic fragments reflects the tension between technological precision and human expression. The work asks a simple question: when machines can generate almost anything, what remains distinctly human about making art? For me, the answer is intention, interpretation and choice.
