HUMANITAS
By Laura Moscatelli · IT
HUMANITAS HUMANITAS poses an essential question: what remains irreducibly human in a world permeated by technology? The work envisions a possible future in which technology has entered deeply into human existence, reaching even the body itself. The device on the child is clearly visible and luminous, yet it is not what defines him. The machine is on the skin; the experience is in the gaze. In this scenario, what endures is the presence of the other. Christ receives the child into his embrace and protects him. His embrace becomes the expression of a presence that does not falter in the face of fragility, disorientation, or the loss of meaning. Even in a profoundly transformed future, Christ remains beside humanity, in a relationship that transcends time and every transformation of human existence. HUMANITAS recognises what endures as human: the capacity to enter into relationship, to trust, to welcome, and to love. For love is not merely something we feel or give: it permeates us, dwells within us and, in our relationship with the other, becomes a living experience of our humanity.
