For Two Minutes, We Were Heroines
By Leena Samuel · IN
These photographs began with a simple, spontaneous request from two young girls: “Didi, take our pictures like heroines.” There was no set, no styling team and no planned pose. For a few minutes they opened their hair, laughed, hugged, played and became completely absorbed in their own little performance. What remained in the photographs was not performance at all, but something deeply human — innocence, affection, confidence and the joy of being seen. In a time when images can be generated, perfected and reconstructed within seconds, this series celebrates something that cannot be prompted into existence: an unplanned human moment.
