The city that watches itself
By AWE by Haris Delic · SE
The City That Watches Itself depicts an impossible civilization folded into a monumental architectural structure dominated by a single observing eye. Buildings, passages, crowds and imagined technologies become parts of a larger organism, blurring the boundary between a city and a conscious presence. The work explores a reversal of observation: humans build increasingly complex systems to see, understand and organize the world, yet those systems may eventually begin to observe their creators. The eye remains deliberately ambiguous—it can suggest artificial intelligence, collective consciousness, surveillance, memory, or the moment when something created appears to acquire a presence of its own.
