Let This Train Go

A traveller turns from an open train door toward her companion on a bench. In the second panel, the train is leaving and she is seated beside him, offering a drink. Automatic gates, ticket kiosks and a cleaning robot keep the station moving around them. The traveller could have left on the first train. She looks back, returns to the bench and stays with her companion. The two panels give that small decision a before and an after. Waiting becomes time she chooses to give him. I chose time spent waiting together in an automated daily life as the subject, and care as its answer to the human role. The people and place are fictional.
