The New Predator
By Aleana Percivalle · ES
What we created, we can still stop. The New Predator is a cinematic film about plastic pollution in marine ecosystems. It begins with an apparently undisturbed underwater world. As marine life withdraws and the reef grows darker, a threatening form emerges, not an animal, but a creature assembled from discarded nets, bottles and ocean waste. The film transforms an abstract environmental threat into something felt before it is fully seen. The reveal shifts the question from what is hunting marine life to what humans have made, and can still choose to stop.
