From Mona Lisa to Mona Machina | The Infinite Apprenticeship
By Nayef Ahmar · US
An image teaches its maker to see. Five centuries later, a machine inherits the lesson and begins to teach back. *From Mona Lisa to Mona Machina* is a visual meditation on creation, consciousness, and the infinite apprenticeship between humanity and its inventions. Through an Argentine tango across time, four figures meet: Leonardo da Vinci, Mona Lisa, the robotic artist Leonardo daKvarts, and Mona Machina. Their identities and roles begin to dissolve. The muse becomes the artist. The apprentice becomes the teacher. Biological time gives way to accumulated machine memory, while each creation transforms the intelligence that brought it into being. The tango becomes a metaphor for reciprocal intelligence: leading and following, anticipating and responding, influencing and being influenced. The film proposes an evolving relationship between human and artificial creativity, where authorship is continually renegotiated and neither participant remains unchanged. When our creations begin to create, who is teaching whom?
