In a scenario in which there is a pronounced alienation between humans and nature, misunderstandings can arise. To investigate this gap, a machine acted as an intermediary between typefaces from Google Fonts and images of slime molds. Based on this, an AI was trained to generate new, unrecognizable letterforms. These forms make hidden connections between human design and natural systems visible, placing form and composition before legibility. The results culminate in a painted mural as well as a physical and a digital archive. The digital archive is engraved into a piece of digital clay, evoking the idea of a hidden artifact that must be uncovered and rediscovered. It is stored on a randomly selected domain, suggesting a form of preservation through concealment. Meaning therefore needs to be actively recovered rather than being immediately accessible or consumed.
