The platform paulvangeenen.nl is not merely a portfolio; it is the central artwork itself—an evolving, living multimedia ecosystem housing a full-scale memoir created in the wake of a life-altering event. Following a tumor diagnosis, a year of silent uncertainty, and major surgery, forty years of unspoken memories demanded a voice. As a software engineer, I chose not to treat AI as a shortcut, but as a creative prosthesis and an extension of mind and memory. Starting from an empty journal gifted by my daughter asking me to tell my story before it was too late, I built an integrated digital universe: - A series of raw, personal memoirs ('De Echo', 'De Geboorte van de Leeuw', 'Koester het Leven'), serving not as self-celebration, but as honest reflection and warning for others. - An acoustic universe of over 100 original tracks and compositions created with AI, giving a voice to every key scene. - Bespoke visual artwork, cinematic video clips, and full multilingual localization. Every evening, algorithms and code were directed by human grief, love, and mortality. The machines provide the computational scale; the scars, dedication, and meaning are entirely human.
