WE ARE STILL HERE
By Mizushima Aoi · UA
An artistic statement on war, memory, human dignity, and the right to exist. War tears families apart, forces people to leave their homes, takes children from their beds, and leaves empty chairs where someone should still be sitting. Behind every destroyed street are lives that will never be the same again. Behind every name spoken at a grave is a person who was loved, whose absence is felt, and whose life cannot be reduced to the moment it ended. WE ARE STILL HERE is the pain of a people forced to defend their land and their homes, their identity, their language, their memory, and their right to live in freedom. This is a song about those who remain — those who remember, who keep the names of their loved ones alive, who rebuild what can still be rebuilt, and who carry on living against all odds, even when the world they once knew has been destroyed. It is a song about those who were silenced, those who were forced to leave their homes or lost their lives, and those who refuse to let them disappear from memory. The song is accompanied by a cinematic visual featuring Aoi Mizushima, a digital character created through an ongoing collaboration between human creativity and artificial intelligence. Her image offers a different perspective on vulnerability and existence, raising questions about what it means to be seen, to have a place in the world, and to leave a mark that cannot simply be erased. A home is more than stone. A name is more than letters. And no destruction can strip the lives, memories, and humanity of an entire people of their meaning. We are still here. We are still alive. We will not disappear. The song and video are dedicated to the pain and resilience of the Ukrainian people.
