One More Version
By Daniel Sultan · CA
An empty public square appears on layers of translucent sheets. Its discarded versions pile up until the archive becomes a landscape. Underneath, cables and cooling pipes lead into dark water. Small decisions about a bench, tree or paving disappear into the weight of the copies. The work connects a city image to the material systems that support its production. It is a fictional scene, with no claim to measure a specific model's environmental footprint. Future Mississauga, my ongoing digital city project, provides the wider context of public space and the pictures used to imagine it.
