Infinite Sequence
By Arash Goudarzi · DE
Infinite Sequence is a walkable game installation built in Unreal Engine. You move as a third-person character across a circular theater stage surrounded by water and meet a crowd of deformed, digitally reconstructed figures, the Glitch Bodies. They emerge from translating human 2D photos into 3D models through AI processes, where missing limbs, shifted proportions and unstable identities become the starting point rather than errors to fix. There is no winning or losing. Proximity is the core mechanic. When you come close to a figure it reacts. It flinches, turns its head, starts to speak or freezes. When you move away it returns to rest. The work asks what becomes visible when digital reconstruction processes deform human bodies, and whether these non-optimised bodies can be read as counter-images to the smooth, filtered and normed bodies of the platform economy. Instagram, dating apps, games and AI image generators all produce bodies that are rated, optimised and monetised. The Glitch Bodies come out of the same systems but show their limits. They make clear that bodies are not naturally given but produced.
