A Place Beside You

By chiga · JP

This fifteen-second animated short expresses the girl's love for her cat and the happiness found in their everyday closeness. A black-and-white cat enters a warmly lit bedroom, climbs onto the bed, and slips beneath the covers. The girl welcomes it close, and their affectionate encounter settles into shared sleep. I wanted to show a happiness that is small in scale but large in feeling: the comfort of being near someone you cherish. Through the girl's expression, the distance between them, and the gentle unfolding of their interaction, a familiar domestic moment becomes a story of love and belonging.
