Before the Answer

Before the Answer is a proposed participatory artwork about human intuition: the moment when a person makes a meaningful choice before they can fully explain it. In a corridor of translucent sheets, machine-written recommendations offer increasingly plausible reasons for every possible direction. At the end, two unmarked doors lead to the same space. Neither door carries a score, reward, or objectively better outcome. Each visitor makes a choice in silence, then ties one red thread to a common lattice. Over time, the threads form a map of distinct human decisions that no average can replace. The work does not claim that intuition is infallible or that machines cannot calculate. It asks what is lost when every meaningful decision must first be justified. This PDF presents the installation concept and its participatory score; it is not documentation of a completed physical exhibition.
