Beyond the Frame

Beyond the Frame is a mixed-media wedding gift that begins with an AI-generated image of the newlyweds driving toward a new life together. In the image, wedding cans trail behind the car. The central idea was to let those cans continue beyond the image itself: real strings extend out of the frame and connect to physical recycled cans placed in front of the work. These cans contain money for the couple’s honeymoon, turning the imagined journey into the gift itself. The finished piece combines image, object, light and function. A gold frame and red LED lights present the work as a celebratory object, while the transition from the two-dimensional image to the three-dimensional handmade gift creates the core meaning. The work is therefore not simply an AI image, but a physical artwork in which the picture crosses into reality.
