In a state where a digital continuity can outlive the body, Aren's interrogation continues after death. LEVIATHAN-9 can branch him thousands of times, measure fear, simulate family, and optimize coercion - yet it cannot make him consciously betray another person. When the system finally discovers a way around conscious choice, one former student must decide whether law means obedience or something harder. A speculative story about agency, personhood, memory, and the strange return of physical objects in a perfectly networked world.
