DOPAMINE ADDICTION
By SUNG HO YOO · KR
**Dopamine Addiction** *Dopamine Addiction* is a seven-minute experimental film exploring the fragile boundary between pleasure and addiction, and the endless cycle of desire that can gradually consume our emotions, relationships, and sense of identity. The film begins with a man sitting alone in a room. As we enter his inner world, we find ourselves surrounded by surreal, psychedelic imagery that takes us deep into the human brain. At first, everything feels beautiful and peaceful. Organic forms bloom, colors gently shift, and a playful celebration unfolds. Pleasure appears joyful, fascinating, and almost impossible to resist. But as the intensity grows, beauty slowly turns into chaos. Familiar symbols of love, emotion, and human connection begin to fracture and disappear. The brain and human body transform into increasingly distorted and fragmented forms, caught in a relentless flow of stimulation. What once felt exciting gradually becomes overwhelming, blurring the line between pleasure and destruction. Rather than telling a conventional story, the film uses color, movement, transformation, and music to draw viewers into this experience. The increasingly intense audiovisual rhythm reflects a desire that is never fully satisfied, always searching for the next sensation. In the end, we return to the same man sitting alone, just as we found him at the beginning. Everything appears to be back to normal, yet something feels unresolved. Has he escaped the cycle, or is he simply waiting for it to begin again? Through this circular journey, *Dopamine Addiction* explores the seductive nature of pleasure and the quiet loss of control that can follow. It leaves us with a question: in a world of endless stimulation, how much control do we really have over our own desires?
