waiting

WAITING "Waiting. the only question that matters is what it's for." Waiting is usually imagined as stillness, a pause before something begins. This film treats it as the opposite: the most active state a body can be in. A lone dancer in a vast field of folded clay, with nothing to arrive at. She searches, loses her shape, falls, and softens into the ground. Waiting here is not stillness but the most active state a body can hold. The only question that matters is what it's for.
