The Hands That Remember
By 김동진 · KR
A pair of weathered farmer's hands cradles a young rice seedling at dawn. Every crack in the skin, every stain of soil, is a record of specific mornings — decades of planting, waiting, and harvesting. The seedling is fragile; the hands are rough. Yet the gentleness with which they hold it contradicts everything about their roughness. This work asks: what can a hand know that a mind cannot? "Human After All" is not a nostalgic slogan. It is a direction. In an age when machines can generate a thousand images of hands holding seedlings, the value of the real hand has not decreased — it has become the only thing that cannot be generated. Not the image of care, but care itself.
