The Tide's Promise / 潮信灯篙

By Chongerdong Studio / 虫二洞工作室 · CN

Two brothers separated across the Taiwan Strait carry the hope of reunion through the Wangchuan boat-sending ritual, whose original purpose is to welcome wandering souls home. A lantern pole, a ritual boat and a cat's-eye marble connect their lives across time. Southern Min nursery rhymes and the lighting of the ritual fire weave two timelines together, turning an inherited custom into a vessel for family memory and loss. Director: Jiayu Wang (王佳钰). Co-creators in order after the director: He Zhu (祝赫), Zihan Ye (叶梓涵), Yunzi Yang (杨蕴姿), Xinyu Zhou (周心语). Submitted by co-creator He Zhu for Chongerdong Studio. Running time: 7 minutes 56 seconds. Completed 30 August 2026.
