The Hand That Guides
By Persian Lucius · IR
This dark fairytale painting is set in a moonlit clockmaker's shop at night. An old man resembling Geppetto sits on a worn leather bench beside a humanoid robot. With one arm around the robot's shoulder, he gently guides its hand as it paints L'Uomo Vitruviano on a canvas. Behind them, a wall of carved cuckoo clocks fades into shadow, and silver moonlight pours through a round hobbit-style window. Pinocchio, a jester marionette and a nutcracker watch silently from the edges. The artwork explores what it means to be human. A machine learns to create by following a human hand, and the old man passes on not only skill but tenderness
