LIVING THE DELAY
By Elena Matveeva · RU
LIVING THE DELAY explores the space between what can be measured and what can only be lived. Cancer makes this boundary brutally visible. After diagnosis, life is translated into scans, results, treatment cycles, prognoses and probabilities. The body becomes an image. Time becomes a schedule. The future becomes a calculation. But a scan cannot show what it means to wait for the result. A prognosis cannot predict what tomorrow will feel like. The work asks what happens to human experience when life is increasingly described through data, images and predictions. The “delay” is the space between information and experience — between what can be registered and what must be lived. What remains when everything measurable has been measured?
